The team at Sofidel America’s Circleville mill in Ohio recently celebrated the successful start-up of their new Valmet Advantage DCT 200 tissue production line.

“The event was a proud achievement in Sofidel’s journey to expand capacity and strengthen its commitment to sustainable, high-quality tissue production,” according to a press release. “The new line, equipped with Valmet’s tissue technology and advanced automation solutions, is designed to combine high output with reduced environmental impact.

“With a design speed of 2,000 meters per minute and an annual capacity of 70,000 tons, it will help meet the growing demand for sustainable tissue products in North America. For Sofidel, the project also builds on a long-standing partnership.”

“Working with Valmet feels like working with an extension of our own team,” Antonio Cuccarese at Sofidel America said. “Their expertise and support during the design and start-up phases made a huge difference, and we’re already seeing the benefits of the new line in operation.”

Valmet equally values the collaboration. Johan Björn at Valmet stated, “Every start-up is unique, but this one was truly special, as we had such short preparation time. The energy and commitment at Circleville were inspiring. It’s rewarding to see our technology in action and know it will support Sofidel’s goals for efficiency and sustainability.”

The release added: “The successful start-up not only increases Sofidel’s production capacity but also strengthens its ambition to lead the way in environmentally responsible tissue production. With the new Advantage DCT 200 line, the Circleville mill is now home to some of the most advanced tissue-making technology in the world.

“The new tissue line will have a design speed of 2,000 m/min and a width of 5.6 meters. The production line is optimized to save energy and deliver excellent paper properties. The line will have an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons.”
