The American Cleaning Institute Appoints New Senior Director Of Regulatory And International Affairs

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI), a trade association for the cleaning products supply chain, has announced the appointment of Marie Gargas as Senior Director of Regulatory and International Affairs.

In this role, Gargas will be responsible for managing environmental health and safety related regulatory issues and activities of concern. She will also manage the expansion of ACI’s collaboration with organizations internationally.

Gargas joins ACI from Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), where she was Senior Technical Director of Regulatory Affairs. In that role, she led on issues related to management and regulatory advocacy for air, water, waste, chemicals, process safety and occupational health and safety.

“Marie’s experience in the regulatory space makes her an invaluable asset to ACI,” ACI Vice President of Science & Regulatory Affairs James Kim said. “We look forward to capitalizing on her knowledge when it comes to industry priorities for the benefit of our member companies.”

Gargas graduated from The College of New Jersey (Ewing, NJ) with a B.S. in chemistry and from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark, NJ) with a M.S. in environmental science. Visit www.cleaninginstitute.org for more information.
