Sellars Absorbent Materials is encouraging its customers, suppliers, supporters, fans and everyone else to vote early and vote often as its signature TOOLBOX® Blue Shop Towels compete in the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. The first round runs September 22-30 and daily voting is allowed. It’s simple to cast a vote. Visit madeinwis.com, click on the Vote Now! button and scroll to Sellars’ Blue Shop Towels.

The company’s blue towels are made from 60% recycled fiber using Double Re-Creped (DRC) technology, a process that enhances the strength, bulk, absorbency, softness and appearance of the wipers. Sellars holds 20 U.S. and 33 international patents for its DRC technology.

“Its Blue Shop Towels are one of the company’s most popular products,” according to a press release. “They are heavy-duty towels with superior strength and high absorbency and are found in auto shops, manufacturing facilities, garages, home workshops and anywhere else there’s grease, oil, dirt and spills.”

“Sellars is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and winning the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin would be an exciting accomplishment for our company,” Michelle Gross, vice president of marketing and customer experience for Sellars Absorbent Materials, said. “Manufacturing is the backbone of our country and small and mid-size companies like ours employ millions of Americans and produce essential products that support our work and home lives.”

Sellars was founded in 1985 by John Sellars in his garage. His first products were designed to replace the ineffective, expensive and messy “kitty litter” options that were regularly applied to absorb leaks, drips and spills on factory floors. In response, he created an absorbent mat and “socks” that could be put on floors and wrapped around machines.

The release added: “Today, Sellars is a leading manufacturer of shop towels, multi-use disposable wipers, towel and tissue and absorbent products and employs 220 people. A number of its wipers, which are sold under the TOOLBOX®, Clean Task® and Mayfair® brands, are made from recycled and renewable materials, are high performance and environmentally friendly. Sellars’ wiping products for the commercial markets are sold nationally through janitorial/sanitary, industrial, safety and specialty distributors.”
